A Message from the Counselor – March 2021
Financial Aid Award Letters: are in the process of being sent out to seniors who have been accepted to the colleges/universities they have applied to, along with submitting their FAFSA form to these colleges/universities. Look over all award letters you receive carefully. Letters can include scholarships, grants, work-study, and loans. If due to Covid 19 your family has had a recent change in income, reach out to the financial aid office of schools that sent award letters out right away. Sometimes colleges may be able to adjust your award letter.
Scholarships: This is a busy time for scholarship applications. There are many local scholarships with March and April deadlines. Seniors, make sure you are checking out the scholarship postings in your Advisory Course within Canvas.
College Credit Courses: The Career Academy offers many college credit opportunities along with online and on-campus courses at WITCC. Look for WITCC’s Fall 2021 course schedule soon and take advantage of starting on your associate or bachelor’s degree while still in high school. See your home high school counselor or stop by the Career Academy office for help registering for classes in the upcoming weeks.
